The Radial Theory leadership team came together in 2018, when the founding partners decided to take their collective years of experience building technology solutions in the real world and create a new type of strategy and engineering consultancy that builds sound, adaptable and affordable solutions for their clients quickly and effectively.

Michael O'Neil

Michael is a senior technology professional, executive-level manager, architect and hands-on technical leader who brings the passion, learning and inspiration gained from these experiences to the Radial Theory technology consulting practice.

He has extensive tech and strategy leadership experience at the C-suite level, guiding technology architecture vision as well as providing hands-on direction to drive solutions from concept, through design, implementation and into production. He has built and run technology at startups and at global-scale companies, across a broad range of industries, including real estate development, media, finance, insurance, entertainment, urban operations, retail, hospitality, gaming, health care, education, transportation, legal and government enterprises.

Prior to forming Radial Theory with Brian Besterman, some of Michael’s recent career highlights include founding and building out the software engineering practice as a partner at Control Group, a creative design and tech consulting shop in NYC. While at Control Group, Michael collaborated with Brian on the design and implementation of groundbreaking innovations in the realm of autonomous and self-healing distributed systems. This was followed by assuming the CTO position for the Consulting and Solutions practice at Intersection, an Alphabet-funded urban technology company.

In earlier consulting and executive roles, Michael built teams, practices and technology solutions for companies that include Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Related Companies, AXA, Deutsche Bank and several Walker Digital startups.

A life-long New Yorker, Michael has a strong passion for cities and their history. He is always looking for ways to apply the lessons of the past and the promise of technology to improve the fabric of civic life.
